I am not one for making New Year’s Resolutions. I look at the beginning of a new year as simply a ‘marker’ to gauge process on current goals and dreams and reflect on the completed ones.
2014 was a year of extreme physical pain and looking back I see it was the grace of God that got me through. Having a 5 1/2 hour back surgery in October and a difficult 12 week recovery period was a blessing and a challenge. The body is a marvel on how it handles pain, outside influences and demands that we make on it daily. Looking back over time I can see where my back was giving me ‘messages’ for years but they were not loud enough to demand attention. After the successful surgery ( huge thank you to Dr. Ulibarri at Sheridan Orthopaedics) and now having the 12 weeks of recovery and recuperation ( thank you Terry Winnop, MS PT at Sheridan Physical Therapy) completed I have a grateful awareness of the complete lack of pain at the lower back and legs.
2015 will be a year of renewed joy at being able to go on hikes, golf, walking, yoga and weight training. Massage and craniosacral therapy are an integral part of health maintenance and well being.
If your goals in 2015 include taking better care of your body, mind and spirit I look forward to seeing you in my office for an appointment.
