Have you ever looked at a skull or pictures of a skull and noticed the jagged edges between the bones? Those sutures with the jagged edges actually allow the bones to flex with the bones around it. In fact, the bones in the head move 6 to 12 times a minute. Sometimes those sutures get ‘stuck’ to each other and don’t flex as well as they should. CranioSacral therapy gently releases the adhesions allowing the bones to move freely. The movement of the skull bones and the surrounding membranes assists the brain to act as a hydraulic pump to pump cranial fluid down the dural tube in the spine. This cranial fluid is continually draining and filling.
The CranioSacral rhythmic impulse can be detected as several ‘listening’ stations throughout the body. A CranioSacral therapy session in essence resets the cranial rhythm. This rhythm is separate from the breathing rhythm and the circulation rhythm.
Benefits from a CranioSacral therapy session allows your body to better take care of you including: brain and spinal cord injuries, fibromyalgia, TMJ syndrome, post-traumatic stress disorder, migraines and headaches, stress and tension-related disorders, central nervous system disorders, chronic fatigue, chronic neck and back pain.
