I request new clients arrive 15 minutes early to complete the health intake form. The health history gives me information that would alert me to any contraindication(s) that would prohibit massage either locally or whole body.
* You and I go over the health history and occasionally other issues are discovered during the discussion, perhaps recent falls or surgeries and so on.
* I would ask if there are specific issues that you would like to have worked on.
*Then you are shown the treatment room and where the restroom is.
* You are told, and it’s the truth, that you are the boss in the massage room. If you have any questions during the massage or would like to make comments, please do so.
* I step out of the room and close the door after leaving you with instruction to disrobe to your level of comfort and to get on the massage table in between the linens and cover up.
* The knock on the door before I enter is to make sure you are ready for me to come in.
* I then do your customized massage and address any of the issues you mentioned.
* When the massage treatment is done, I step out of the room to allow you to dress.
* After you are dressed and come out of the treatment room, we discuss what I observed and treated during the massage.
^ Then you will receive suggestions for stretches and instructions for the day including drinking more water than you normally do to wash the toxins out of your body that we released during the massage.
* I would next ask if you would like to book your next appointment to make sure that you get the date and time you would like to accommodate your schedule.
After the massage you are set to enjoy the rest of the day knowing that you have participated in maintaining good health practice.
